Does your car contain precious metals?

From the silver used for heating rear windows to the platinum used for the catalysis process exhausts are based on, your car is a small reserve of precious metals.

The catalyst used for the production of catalytic converters is often a precious metal. Platinum is the most active and widely used catalyst. Palladium and rhodium are another two precious metals used for this purpose.
Instead, in heated rear windows the conductive characteristics of precious metals are used in the silver paste installed above the glass, through which heat is transferred.
