Agent/consultant/technical assistant - thick film applications

Specific fields: thick film applications & screen printing (PV, automotive, electronics)

Responsibilities:
  • assist customers in the implementation, use and problem solving connected to Chimet's conductive pastes
  • assist customer in the optimum design either of laboratory and industrial scale trials
  • manage projects, actively participate in technical discussions
  • attend technical conferences and exhibitions in the fields to generate new business opportunities and be up to date from a technical point of view
  • lay down technical and commercial report to Chimet
Requirements:
  • 3 to 5 years experience in the manufacturing and/or technical assistance in automotive and/or photovoltaic and/or electronics thick film pastes, inks or enamels in leading companies
  • knowledge of ink formulation techniques and the effects of ink characteristics on the physical properties of coatings
  • good knowledge of automotive glass manufacturing, photovoltaic cells manufacturing, thick film electronics' applications
  • basic knowledge of conductive pastes manufacturing and/or associate products
  • basic knowledge in general and organic precious metals and glass frits chemistry
  • fluent English. Standard Mandarin will be required for candidates supposed to work over Far East areas.
  • availability to frequent travelling

Senior Thick Film Scientist Photovoltaic and Electronic Materials

Division: Thick Film
Location: Tuscany, Italy
Summary
The scientist will be responsible for leading research, design, formulation, characterization, analysis and industrial scale-up of conductive thick film inks/pastes for PV.
Competence on development of thick film inks for electronic and/or automotive applications will be considered as an asset.
PhD in chemistry-related disciplines with emphasis on inorganic and particularly on precious metal chemistry, glass/ceramic chemistry will be considered preferentially. Minimum working experience is supposed to be 5
years on industrial R&D on conductive Thick Film formulation. Work experience must specifically be on PV and other electronic applications, from design to industrial scale-up.
The scientist will leverage his proven knowledge on conductive inks to improve existing products and /or formulate new ones such PV metallization pastes and so on.
The candidate is supposed to be very familiar with scientific and patent literature. He will also be required to periodically report his achievements and occasionally write scientific papers or conference presentations in collaboration with scientific partners.
The candidate will have strong project management, analytical and creativity skills, he will be customer oriented and will exhibit good presentation skills in order to capture VoC.
Communication skills and ability to work in team and in cooperation with leading scientific institutions is required.
