Knowledge, innovation and sustainability: the future starts with the new generations

Sustainability is not just an industrial choice but a culture to be shared – a journey that passes through innovation, the circular economy, and, above all, knowledge.

This is the vision that inspired our company to organise the event "La scienza che non ti aspettavi" (The Science You Didn’t Expect), the talk show dedicated to students in Arezzo, which brought the renowned science communicator and chemist Barbascura X to the stage of Teatro Petrarca, leading a session that combined information, humour, and critical reflection.

Following the success of 2024 with Vincenzo Schettini in "La fisica che ci piace" (The Physics We Like), we chose to renew our commitment to strengthening the dialogue between schools, businesses, and the scientific community. Hundreds of students filled Arezzo's main theatre to experience an event that tackled complex topics in an accessible way: from cognitive biases to the mechanisms of the circular economy, from the role of informed communication to the value of research. "We believe that the greatest innovation is the one that comes through knowledge", explained our CEO Luca Benvenuti. "Knowledge generates awareness, and awareness is the foundation of every ethical, productive, and social choice. That is why we invest in projects that bring young people closer to science and sustainability".

On stage, Barbascura X engaged in a dialogue with biologist Jacopo De Luca, who guided the discussion, stimulating questions and curiosity from students of Arezzo's secondary schools and technical institutes. This educational moment was promoted with the patronage of the Municipality of Arezzo and in collaboration with the Local Education Authority. In a historical phase marked by energy, environmental, and digital transitions, Chimet reaffirmed its commitment: to create an ecosystem of education, responsibility, and vision where knowledge is the lever that transforms sustainability into a real and shared value. "Reaching the hearts of young people means helping them understand that the future requires knowledge and conscious choices," added Maria Cristina Squarcialupi of Chimet's Board of Directors. "For a cleaner, more liveable world, appropriate technologies are needed, alongside a culture of recycling and recovery that starts with them".
